How to get to Eco Resort Russell Island
Vehicle Ferry
Drive to the Eco Resort.
Go to the vehicle ferry at Weinam St Redland Bay. The ferry leave every 15 – 90 minutes and our reception staff will help you book it. Enjoy the ferry ride that takes you in amongst our amazing waterways where you will sail past Macleay, Lamb and Karragarra Islands. It will then pull into the Russell Island ferry dock.
Just drive off and follow the signs ,the Eco Resort is only a 5 min drive,
Passenger Ferry
Park at the Redland Bay marina and hop in the passenger ferry it’s a short 12 min or 25 min ride depending on which ferry.
Go card is the preferred method of payment.
When you arrive we will pick you up in our 12 seat van and take you straight to your villa.
You won’t have to stand at reception as your driver will have already confirmed your booking.

Things to do at Eco Resort
Bush Tucker Tour
This is the heart of our Eco Resort. Walk through our amazing gardens along winding tracks meandering between the thousands of bush tucker shrubs and trees that are safe to eat, pluck a leaf or a berry and experience the true nature Australia and our island can provide.
Knowledgeable staff will escort guests and locals along the paths explaining the attributes of the different trees and bushes and the unique history of our islands.
Pick a handful and bring back to the restaurant to have our chef make a meal for you.
It’s all part of the Eco Resort experience.
All through the day our tour guides can walk you through the thousands of bush tucker trees and shrubs.
Additional Trips, Tours and Activity Hire
Canoes are available at the proposed jetty (subject to approval) for day visitors rent on an hourly basis or if you are an in house guest it is included in you stay .
Fish on the proposed jetty (subject to approval) or take one of our fishing tours. Choose between one of our 2 hr or late evening fishing experiences. Our helpful staff will provide your rods and bait. Snack and light refreshment options are available in the boat.
Bring your catch to the restaurant we will cook it for you.
Hire a bike and go for a ride. We have roads all over the island. Go to sandy beach or explore the wetland trails, it’s all here for you.
Inter-island tours are available.
As the resort develops more tour option will be listed just use our app or call reception and they will help you
Nature Activities outside the resort
There are many things to do on Russell and the neighbouring islands. The island interiors are rich with native flora and fauna, all waiting for you to explore.
Blue-tongue lizards and goannas are prevalent. Bird life is varied with sea eagles, ospreys, pied oystercatchers, far eastern curlews, honeyeaters, rainbow bee-eaters, pheasant coucals, friarbirds, petrel, heron,booby, gold bill tern, king fisher, kookaburras, cockatoo and rainbow lorikeets just to name a few.
There is a public access nature walk meandering from the front of the resort to the proposed jetty(subject to approval) where you can capture glimpses of Ooncooncoo Bay and look at the mangroves. Stop and pick up a takeaway coffee and go to the proposed jetty(subject to approval), and do a bit of fishing or canoeing.
